Her passion for the equine partnership experience is very personal. She has owned, ridden and trained both Orion and Phoebe since they were 3 years old and Whiskey since a yearling.
Jean’s lessons emphasize safety from “A to Z,” while focusing on learning grooming, hoof care, tack and saddling, bridling, nutrition, metabolic and health care issues, trailer loading and travel. She emphasizes this “whole horsemanship” approach with beginning riders, so they start their riding careers learning to respect all the intricacies of horsemanship.
Learning proper handling of the horse on the ground is as important as in the saddle. It sets the foundation for a lifetime of equine and human partnerships and is a natural and necessary stepping stone to understanding accomplishing the following:

Her feelings of respect for the well being of both the horse and student rider is as strong as her own love of riding and equine ownership. She believes in patient cross-training of the horse to ensure a good physical and emotional balance and is very patiently persistent with her students too! Have fun riding in the arena, participating in horse shows, or pleasure riding on the trails.



The knowledge that her students gain from Jean will give them the foundation to pursue any riding discipline they wish.
